smoothly crying out between saxophone soliloquies, six string interjections, and bottom end bromides

Cordoba was born at UChicago where the three founding members (Cam Cunningham, Brianna Tong, and Zach Upton-Davis) studied under Chicago composer and improviser, Mwata Bowden. From the beginning, the band has been interested in combining jazz improvisation with neo-soul sensibilities and sweeping soundscapes. After getting their feet wet with Rust in 2016, Cordoba added bassist Khalyle Hagood and saxophonist Eric Novak and released Consume Dream Break on May Day 2017. They are following this up with their longest release yet coming in early 2018. This record features colorful arrangements and soulful vocals clamoring for radical change. They will debut this new music at Hungry Brain as a septet, complimented by Zach Bain-Selbo on keys and Julian Harris on Trumpet.
